چکیده

Rosmarinus officinalis L. belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is cultivated worldwide due its diverse uses as an ornamental evergreen shrub in gardening, well a food seasoning natural medicine. The present research was conducted study morphological traits of seven wild-grown rosemary populations Greece, propagation two selected with most desirable characteristics, by use shoot cuttings vitro cultures. From populations, those interesting features were grown areas Amaliada Piperia and, thus, chosen for studying their propagation. Rooting carried out during four seasons year, using potassium salt Indole-3-butyric acid (K-IBA) at concentrations 0.5 1 g·L−1, various substrates under intermittent mist or fog system. It found that rooted easily all seasons, but there better results population ‘Piperia’ autumn, g·L−1 K-IBA (80%), ‘Amaliada’ spring, (82.5%), while higher rooting percentages achieved system, on substrate consisting perlite peat, ratio 2:1 (85%). For cultures, tips excised from successfully disinfested pre-soaking antioxidant solution then, sterilizing them 0.6% (w/v) NaOCl, followed transferring onto Murashige Skoog (MS) nutrient medium. cultures proved be productive (2.1 shoots per explant), highest formation frequency (91.6%), when MS medium without plant growth regulators. (66.6%) supplemented 0.25 mg·L−1 6-Benzyloaminopurine (BAP) 0.1 Indole-3-acetic (IAA). Spontaneous root noticed medium, containing BAP IAA, both (50% 41.6%, respectively) single stage, lengths 7.1 5.3 cm, respectively. Rosemary plantlets, roots formed after transplanting soilless substrate, acclimatized adequately greenhouse environment (~70%).

Enhanced production of valerenic acids and valepotriates by in vitro cultures of Valeriana officinalis L.

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.) is an important medicinal plant that is widely exploited for its roots and rhizomes which contain valepotriates and valerenic acids (with putative pharmacological activities). Thus root proliferation of valerian is very important. The aim of this study was to establish a practical tissue culture method for rapid and large-scale induction of V. officinalis L. ...

Flower size variation in Rosmarinus officinalis: individuals, populations and habitats.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Flowers are relatively invariant organs within species, but quantitative variation often exists among conspecifics. These variations represent the raw material that natural selection can magnify, eventually resulting in morphological divergence and diversification. This paper investigates floral variability in Rosmarinus officinalis, a Mediterranean shrub. METHODS Nine pop...
